Austin police investigating city's 19th homicide of 2024

On Saturday, May 4, 2024, at approximately 3:26 a.m., officers from the Austin Police Department (APD) responded to a shooting incident in the 1800 block of Colony Creek Drive. Upon arrival, they discovered a male individual on the ground with an apparent gunshot wound. The Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services (A/TCEMS) arrived on scene and pronounced the male, later identified as Nicholas Taylor, deceased at 3:37 a.m.
