Many families in the Austin Independent School District (ISD) rely on the district for healthy meals and other services. As winter break approaches, several community partners are stepping up to provide support.

Among these resources is access to nutritious food during the break. Additionally, information regarding food, housing, transportation, child care, and more is available by calling 2-1-1 or (877) 541-7905 to speak with a live operator.

For those dealing with grief and loss, free information and support groups are offered for both youth and adults. These can be accessed by calling 512-467-2600. Mental health crises support is available around the clock or by appointment at 512-472-4357.

The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline is also accessible at 988 for anyone who needs to talk about their struggles. "If you’re struggling, it’s okay to share your feelings," encourages the district.

The statement urges families not to hesitate in reaching out to ensure they have what they need over the winter break.
