The Austin Community College District (ACC) has begun construction on the first phase of its 2022 General Obligation Bond projects at the Eastview Campus. This phase involves a significant expansion of the Dental Hygiene Program facilities.
An allocation of $8.5 million is dedicated to Phase 1, which focuses on Building 8000. The project is designed by Lawrence Group Architects and constructed by Linbeck Group, LLC. The expansion will double the number of dental treatment rooms from 16 to 32 and renovate associated clinic spaces to enhance the learning environment.
Additionally, the lobby space between the main entry doors of Building 8000 will be integrated into the Dental Hygiene suite. Renovations will also occur in first-floor classrooms and the campus administration suite within Building 8000, covering approximately 13,850 square feet.
The college aims to admit more students and graduate more professionals into the dental hygiene workforce through this expansion. The upgraded facilities are expected to provide students with hands-on experience in a modern environment, preparing them for their careers.
Completion of this work is scheduled for Fall 2025. For updates and further information about all bond projects, visit http://austincc.edu/bond.
