Austin police investigate double homicide on South Pleasant Valley Road

On Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at approximately 11:31 p.m., Austin Police Department (APD) officers responded to a shooting at 2317 South Pleasant Valley Road. Callers reported several shots fired and people screaming. Upon arrival, officers located three victims suffering from gunshot wounds. One victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. The two other victims were transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries; one of them later died at a local hospital. The third victim remains in stable condition despite sustaining life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the vehicle left the scene immediately after the crash without stopping or calling 9-1-1. The pedestrian, identified as Corey Green, was pronounced deceased on the scene.

On Friday, June 21, 2024, at approximately 4:06 p.m., Austin Police Department (APD) officers responded to a call regarding a deceased person in the 2600 block of Metcalfe Road. The caller reported seeing what appeared to be a deceased individual at this location. Upon arrival, officers discovered an obviously deceased female in an abandoned house. The victim was later identified as Alyssa Ann Rivera, born on December 1, 1989. She was pronounced dead shortly thereafter.

Callers described a man, later identified as Sims, wearing gray shorts and a white tank top, "acting erratic" and "throwing things" inside the store.
