Homicide investigation launched after fatal shooting on Teri Road
On Sunday, September 8, 2024, at approximately 5:55 p.m., Austin Police Department (APD) officers responded to a disturbance call in the 2500 block of Teri Road. The caller reported her husband was in a verbal and physical altercation with another male subject. The caller stated the male subject returned with a gun. Another 9-1-1 caller then stated that their uncle had been shot.

City works on emergency repair for Barton Springs Pool
Staff from the City of Austin's Parks and Recreation and Watershed Protection departments are collaborating with contractors to address a leak in an abandoned pipe at Barton Springs Pool. The pool will remain closed during the repairs. In the meantime, Deep Eddy Pool will open daily at 6 a.m. For a full list of available pools, visit austintexas.gov/pools.

On Thursday, August 29, 2024, at approximately 11:09 p.m., Austin Police Department (APD) officers responded to a crash involving two vehicles in the 1500 block of North IH-35 NB. The driver of one of the vehicles was taken to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased. The driver and passenger of the second vehicle were not injured and are cooperating with the investigation.
