On Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at approximately 1:04 a.m., Austin Police Department (APD) officers responded to a crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian in the 700 block of East Ben White Boulevard SVRD WB. The pedestrian was pronounced deceased on the scene. The vehicle did not stop.
This incident is being investigated as Austin’s 58th fatal crash of 2024, resulting in 63 fatalities for the year. On the date of this crash in 2023, 63 fatal crashes resulted in 66 fatalities.
