Senator Nathan Johnson was sworn in for his third term as a member of the Texas State Senate, representing District 16. The ceremony took place today in Austin, marking his fourth session in the legislature.

In a statement, Senator Johnson highlighted the importance of infrastructure. "From the roads we travel to the schools where our kids grow and learn to the healthcare systems we rely upon, the Legislature should give priority this session to infrastructure – social and physical. That’s the only way we can promise our children and future generations that they will have the opportunity to live as well as we have been so fortunate to live. And if we fail to act, they will bear the burden of our failure. What will people thank us for in 30 years? That should be the question on our minds."

Senator Johnson outlined several legislative priorities for this session:

- **Workforce Housing:** Senate Bill 234 aims to address housing issues by encouraging workforce housing construction.

- **Water and Energy Systems:** Focus on water supply management and electrical power system improvements.

- **Public Education:** Senate Bill 233 proposes increasing student funding tied to inflation.

- **Health and Healthcare Access:** Through Senate Bills 232 and 236, Johnson supports Medicaid expansion and integrating non-medical health drivers into healthcare systems.
