Austin police identify suspect in double homicide on South Pleasant Valley Road

The suspect in this case has been identified as Hector Olvera, 37 years of age. Mr. Olvera has been arrested with the following three charges:

On Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at approximately 11:31 p.m., Austin Police Department (APD) officers responded to a shooting at 2317 South Pleasant Valley Road. The callers reported that several shots were fired and people were heard screaming. Officers arrived and located three victims suffering from gunshot wounds. One of the victims was pronounced deceased on scene. The two other victims were transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. The second victim died at a local hospital. The third sustained life-threatening injuries but remains in stable condition.

Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Specialists responded to process the scene and interview witnesses. The investigation is still active and ongoing.
