On Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at approximately 7:17 a.m., Austin Police Department (APD) officers responded to a crash between a vehicle and a pedestrian in the 7300 block of W. Hwy 71. The pedestrian was pronounced deceased on scene. The involved vehicle left the scene.

The unidentified pedestrian was riding a bicycle when the crash occurred. The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver and passenger of the vehicle were not injured, remained on scene, and are cooperating with the investigation.
