Mass of The Fermenting Dregs, a Japanese alternative rock band, is set to perform in Austin, Texas at Mohawk on October 16, 2024. The band originated in Kobe City, Japan and gained recognition in 2007 after winning the best artist award at EMI Music Japan’s newcomer audition. This success led them to record with Dave Fridman at Tarbox Road Studio in the United States.
Their first album was released in 2008, which helped them quickly rise within Japan's alternative rock scene. After a hiatus beginning in 2012, the band reunited in 2017. The current members include Natsuko Miyamoto on vocals and bass, Naoya Ogura on guitar and backing vocals, and Isao Yoshino on drums and backing vocals.
The band is noted for their energetic live performances characterized by dynamic stage presence and a melodic guitar-driven pop sound. They continue to be one of the most engaging acts in Japan.
