The 19th HAAM Day was celebrated last Tuesday, marking a significant event for Austin's local live music scene. The Health Alliance for Austin Musicians (HAAM) organized the day-long celebration with performances from over 300 local bands and musicians across Central Texas. The event aimed to raise funds for HAAM's healthcare services.

Key sponsors, PNC and SXSW, played a vital role in supporting the event. HAAM Day featured performances at various venues including grocery stores, restaurants, and businesses in areas such as Austin, Round Rock, Dripping Springs, Pflugerville, Lockhart, Georgetown, Leander, and Spicewood.

"SPONSORS generously provided more than $600,000 in support of HAAM Day," according to the organizers. This financial backing allows HAAM to convert sponsorships into over $5 million worth of direct healthcare services.

The day also included live broadcasts by major local news stations. "We Are Austin," hosted by Trevor Scott and Chelsea Hernandez, aired their show live from the Lake Austin H-E-B. Interviews were conducted with key figures like HAAM CEO Paul Scott and Board Chair Nikelle Mead.

Volunteers contributed significantly to the event's success by donating over 275 hours of their time. This effort is valued at approximately $10,000 in operational support for HAAM.

The celebrations concluded with an exclusive after-party on the SXSW Rooftop featuring performances by Jake Barksdale, Mike Meadows, Rebecca Patek, and a surprise appearance by Grammy-nominated Hayes Carll.

Organizers expressed gratitude towards all participants: "Your generosity on HAAM Day creates a lasting impact." They also announced that preparations are underway for next year's 20th anniversary of HAAM Day scheduled for September 23rd.
