Hotel Fiction, an indie rock band from Athens, Georgia, is gaining recognition in the music industry. The band consists of Jade Long on vocals and keys, Jessica Thompson on vocals and lead guitar, Aaron Daugherty on lead guitar and synth, Aidan Hill on bass, and Gideon Johnston on drums. Their music blends indie, pop, folk, and rock influences.
Jade Long and Jessica Thompson began collaborating in January 2019 while studying at the University of Georgia. In August 2019, they released their debut single "Astronaut Kids," which was well-received by the indie community and has garnered over two million streams globally. Their first album "Soft Focus" came out in 2021, followed by the EP "Enjoy Your Stay" in 2022. In 2023, Hotel Fiction featured prominently on flipturn's single "Halfway (Acoustic)," which has nearly one million streams.
The band's work has been acknowledged by EARMILK, Consequence of Sound, and Early Rising. Their songs have appeared on several Spotify editorial playlists including New Noise, wanderlust, Fresh Finds, Acoustic Love, Fresh Finds Rock: Best of 2022, and All New Rock.
Over the past three years, Hotel Fiction has toured extensively across the United States. They have headlined shows and supported acts such as flipturn, The Beaches, SUSTO, Beach Fossils, Adam Melchor, WILLIS, and Sunroom. In January 2024 they performed at Sister Hazel’s Rock Boat event alongside Young the Giant and The Struts.
Earlier this year they supported The Brook & The Bluff during their headline tour. This summer marks a significant milestone for Hotel Fiction as they plan to release their second album followed by a US headline tour.
