As summer draws to a close, children and their families begin preparations for the new school year. GarzaEMC organized a Back-to-School Party for children living in shelters at The Rathgeber Center for Families, aiming to provide them with a memorable end-of-summer experience.
Staff and volunteers set up various activities on the shelter's lawn. The event began with arts and crafts, including coloring pages, markers, and rock painting. A face-painting station was also available, staffed by three artists. Additionally, a bounce house and popcorn machine were provided for further entertainment. Family obstacle courses allowed children to win prizes, while a snow cone truck offered refreshments in the Texas heat. Major Reckline participated in a dunk tank activity.
The event brought laughter and enjoyment to families at The Rathgeber Center. GarzaEMC played a crucial role in making this event possible, allowing children and parents to create lasting memories before the school year starts.
