Octapharma opens first plasma donation center in Austin

Octapharma, a leading global plasma collection and human protein product manufacturer, is set to open its first location in Austin. The grand opening celebration will take place on Thursday, June 13 at 9:30 a.m., featuring a ribbon-cutting ceremony. This new center joins Octapharma's network of over 175 centers across 34 states, including 22 others in Texas.

Members of Octapharma Plasma senior leadership will travel from the North Carolina headquarters to attend the event and deliver remarks. The program will include a tour of the center and an opportunity for attendees to engage with local residents involved in Octapharma’s mission to enhance the quality of life through plasma donation. Refreshments will be provided.

Plasma, the liquid component of blood, carries antibodies, clotting factors, and proteins throughout the body. It is used in treatments for various rare and life-threatening conditions such as cancers, hemophilia, autoimmune diseases, and burns.
