On Aug. 27, PopShorts, an influencer marketing agency based in Austin, won a Streamy Award recognizing their contributions to social impact in working with the International Committee of the Red Cross. Jake Hay, partner and head of business development at PopShorts, is delighted that his company was recognized for its social efforts.

"We are thrilled to be recognized with such an esteemed award," Hay said in a press release. "Our team is deeply committed to leveraging social media for good, and it's an honor to have those efforts acknowledged."

According to the company's website, PopShorts specializes in making socially impactful campaigns and has won over 35 international awards. The agency has collaborated with companies such as Disney, Netflix, and Adobe. The Streamy win comes right in time for PopShorts’ next initiative, a partner project with multiple educational institutions for a campaign to promote career readiness among graduating students.

PopShorts won the Streamy Award for Social Impact for their campaign for The International Committee of the Red Cross’ “Play by the Rules” livestream event. By live streaming video games on Twitch, the Red Cross was able to engage over 140,000 viewers and raise awareness for the Geneva Conventions and humanitarian rights of individuals residing in conflict zones. This campaign was recognized by publications including USA Today and Gamespot.

In the press release, Hays said that he hopes this award would not only bring national recognition for PopShorts, but also for all the quality digital work being created in Austin.

PopShorts is a growing company, with an expected revenue of $6 million in 2023.

Hay also serves as president of the AAF Austin Chapter, an organization that connects advertising professionals.

The Streamy Awards celebrate the best in online videos and their creators. The 2023 awards marked the event's 13th year and recognized creators in over 45 different categories.
