Former President Donald J. Trump will pay a visit to Austin next month as part of the American Freedom Tour, per a report from Austin ABC affiliate KVUE.
According to the station, the 45th president is slated to headline the event when it makes a stop at the Austin Convention Center on May 14. American Freedom Tour president Chris Widener anticipates a crowd because of the humanitarian crisis at the southern border and the upcoming revocation of Title 42, a public health authority implemented by the Trump administration which bars migrants at the border from entering the country for asylum in an effort to stop the spread of COVID-19.
"Our nation's border crisis in Texas is about to grow even worse, thanks to [President Joe Biden's] decision to rescind Title 42," Widener said, according to KVUE. "Americans are eager to hear President Trump's America-First message now more than ever."
The station reported that tickets are currently for sale, with just 5,000 seats available.
Joining Trump at the event are his eldest son, Donald, Jr., former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, conservative commentators Kimberly Guilfoyle and Dinesh D'Souza, musician Ted Nugent, actor Kevin Sorbo and a host of others, according to KVUE.
Austin is the sixth stop for the American Freedom Tour, the station reported.
According to its organizers, it's among the dozens of rallies to be held across the U.S.
Birmingham, Alabama is reportedly another leg on the tour, with that event scheduled for June 18.
KVUE reported that Trump visited Texas earlier this year when he spoke at a rally in Conroe, which is 40 miles north of Houston, where he announced his endorsements of the state's key Republican leaders who are up for reelection, including, but not limited to Gov. Greg Abbott and Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick.
According to the station, he last visited Austin in 2019.
