City of Austin City Council will meet Jan. 4.

SPEAKER REGISTRATION FOR THE JANUARY 4, 2022 CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL CALLED MEETING
Public comment will be allowed in-person or remotely by telephone. Speakers may only register to speak on an item once either in-person or remotely.
Speakers providing in-person testimony can register to speak either online or in-person. Please see below for information on how to register in-person at City Hall using the atrium kiosks.
To speak in-person at the City Council Meeting:
• Speakers must submit the online registration form in advance. Speakers will not be able to register using the City Hall atrium kiosks until 12 p.m. on Monday, January 3, 2022. The online registration form can be found at:
https://cityofaustin.formstack.com/forms/austin_city_council_speaker_signup.
• Registration must be submitted by 12 p.m. (Noon) on Monday, January 3, 2022. Advanced registration allows staff to manage the number of speakers in chambers to accommodate social distancing requirements.
• Handouts or other documents that speakers wish to have provided to Council must be emailed to City.Clerk@austintexas.gov by 12 p.m. (Noon) on Monday, January 3, 2022. This information will be provided to Mayor and Council in advance of the meeting.
• Currently speakers may not donate time to other speakers.
• Currently speakers may not pull consent items from the consent agenda.
• The allotted time provided to speakers may vary as determined by Council.
• Requests for language translation/interpretation services or sign language services must be emailed to City.Clerk@austintexas.gov 48 hours in advance of the meeting.

City Hall Atrium Kiosk Registration for In-person Speakers:
• In lieu of online registration, in-person speakers can register to speak using the City Hall atrium kiosks beginning 12 p.m. on Monday, January 3, 2022 and running through 9:00 a.m. the day of the meeting.
• Please visit the Office of the City Clerk if assistance is required when using the kiosks. Remote (Telephone) Public Comment will occur as follows:
Remote speakers will be taken in blocks at 10 AM. Additional time slots may be added as needed or at the request of Council.
Times are subject to change as determined by Council.
To speak remotely at the City Council Meeting:
• Speakers must submit the online registration form in advance. The form can be found at:
https://cityofaustin.formstack.com/forms/austin_city_council_speaker_signup.
• Registration must be submitted by 12 p.m. (Noon) on Monday, January 3, 2022. Advanced registration allows staff to determine the number of speaker blocks needed and assists with managing the number of speakers in the speaker queue.
• Speakers will receive either an email or phone call providing instructions on speaking at the meeting following the close of the registration period.
• Handouts or other documents that speakers wish to have provided to Council must be emailed to City.Clerk@austintexas.gov by 12 p.m. (Noon) on Monday, January 3, 2022. This information will be provided to Mayor and Council in advance of the meeting.
• Currently speakers may not donate time to other speakers.
