Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) saw a decline in passenger and cargo traffic in February 2025 compared to the same month in 2024. According to airport officials, the total passenger traffic for February 2025 was 1,375,821, marking a 6.09% decrease from February 2024. Enplanements totaled 687,154, registering a 5.89% decrease.
Passenger numbers varied among airlines. Southwest Airlines had 576,690 passengers, down 5.6%. American Airlines saw 248,882 passengers, a 24.1% decrease. Delta Air Lines rose 15.1% with 215,063 passengers, while United Airlines also saw an increase of 5%, with 192,527 passengers.
Frontier Airlines experienced a substantial increase of 481.8%, carrying 23,133 passengers. British Airways reported an 18.5% increase with 13,558 passengers, and Aeromexico had a 58.1% increase with 7,399 passengers. JetBlue Airways saw a significant decrease, with passengers down 73.7% to 4,557.
Cargo traffic also declined, with February 2025 air cargo totaling 19,791,691 lbs., representing an 18.21% drop from February 2024. International air cargo saw a 2.04% decrease.
Air Transport International carried 7,120,481 lbs. of cargo, a reduction of 14.7%. Federal Express saw a significant decline of 47.7%, with 3,383,643 lbs. United Parcel Services carried 2,302,389 lbs., showing an increase of 2.4%. Sun Country Airlines transported 1,688,695 lbs., up 23.1%, and Atlas Air carried a decreased 1,333,425 lbs.
General aviation operations reached 3,263 in February, down 7.27%. Combined operations, which include commercial and military, totaled 18,437, a 3.47% decrease.
Between January and February 2025, a total of 2,772,660 passengers traveled through AUS, down 5.96% from the same period in the previous year. Enplanements fell by 5.89%, reaching 1,370,039.

Cargo for the first two months of 2025 totaled 40,137,961 lbs., marking a 15.24% decrease. International air cargo was down 3.86%.
Air Transport International handled 14,891,979 lbs., down 10.8%, while Federal Express carried 7,156,102 lbs., marking a 39.7% decrease. United Parcel Services transported 4,733,729 lbs., a 1% increase. Sun Country Airlines transported 3,171,465 lbs., up 19.9%, and Atlas Air carried 2,744,273 lbs., down 23.9%.
General aviation operations were slightly up by 0.55% to 6,569, while combined operations decreased by 3.61% to a total of 37,414 for the January-February period.
