Malin’s Fountain by Thomas Dambo | Pease Park

On April 7, 2025, Pease Park celebrated the first anniversary of "Malin’s Fountain," a creation by artist Thomas Dambo. The fountain was installed in March 2024 and has since become a notable feature of the park. To mark the occasion, community members gathered for a celebration.

Long-View Micro School participated in the event by crafting troll-sized accessories for Malin, including a tiara, flowers, a birthday cake, a sash, and an ankle bracelet. These items were specially made to fit the 18-foot sculpture.

The Pease Park Conservancy staff distributed cupcakes during the event while musicians played birthday songs. The conservancy expressed gratitude to volunteers and donors who contributed to making Malin’s Fountain an enjoyable experience for visitors in Austin.

"Thank you to all of the volunteers and donors who have made it possible for us to share the joy of Malin’s Fountain with the Austin community!" said Pease Park Conservancy.
