The upcoming National Prescription Drug Take Back Day is scheduled for April 26, 2025. This event provides an opportunity for individuals to safely dispose of unneeded over-the-counter, prescription, and pet medications. The initiative aims to prevent medication misuse, reduce the risk of addiction or drug toxicity, and protect local water supplies from contamination.

The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at various locations across Travis County. Participants can drop off their medications anonymously and free of charge at any convenient location. However, it is important to note that needles and syringes will not be accepted during this event.

The designated drop-off sites include:

- Constable Precinct 1: 4717 Heflin Ln Ste 127, Austin, TX 78721

- Constable Precinct 2: 10409 Burnet Rd Ste 150, Austin, TX 78758
