Yes, you – and all 3,335 other It’s My Park Day volunteers who came together to make our parks, trails and green spaces better. It truly takes a village, and you guys continue to show up.
On March 1, the event saw the participation of 3,336 volunteers across Austin in 89 park projects. During these activities, participants removed 10,450 pounds of trash and spread 995 cubic yards of mulch. The efforts contributed an estimated $319,656 worth of labor and materials for the city's parks in just one Saturday morning.
The organizers expressed their gratitude: "Again, THANK YOU for showing up. We are grateful to everyone (project leaders, volunteers and giveback partners) who took part in this city-wide volunteer event."
They look forward to continuing this community-building initiative: "We hope you enjoyed your time creating community in our local parks, trails and green spaces – we’ll see you again this fall."
