Travis County's Cable Channel 17 is set to broadcast a series of educational videos throughout March as part of the county's Storm Water Management Program, mandated by the Texas Commission for Environmental Quality. These broadcasts aim to educate the public on various environmental issues and solutions.

The lineup includes several informative videos produced by the Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA) and the Water Education Foundation. "Innovative Stormwater Runoff Practices" and "Pointless Pollution," hosted by Walter Cronkite, will be featured alongside "Storm Water Management: Turning Runoff Into a Resource," which addresses pollution prevention strategies.

From March 4th to March 9th, viewers can watch "Austin Underground," presented by The City of Austin. This program offers insights into the Barton Springs Edwards Aquifer, focusing on threats like non-point source pollution, hydrogeology studies, local aquatic species habitats, and geological features.

Excal Visual presents "IDDE, A Grate Concern" in both English and Spanish, discussing illicit discharge issues within communities. Additionally, Brett Briant from LCRA shares practical tips through "WaterSmart Videos," covering topics such as irrigation efficiency and water conservation practices implemented in various Texas cities.

A mockumentary titled "Majestic Plastic Bag," narrated by Jeremy Irons and produced by 'Heal the Bay,' humorously follows a plastic bag's journey to the Great Pacific Garbage Patch. It will air alongside other segments from March 11th to March 16th.

On March 18th through March 23rd, viewers can explore natural spring preservation with "Texas, The State of Springs," presented by Texas Parks & Wildlife. The video examines challenges affecting spring flow and conservation efforts.

Finally, from March 25th to March 30th, additional features from Texas Parks & Wildlife include "In Land We Trust," "Policing Pollution," and others that highlight ecological preservation efforts. The LCRA contributes with segments like "Clean Water: It Starts With You" and a brief look at Adam Johnson's vision for Buchanan Dam in "Blind Man's Vision."

These broadcasts provide valuable information about water management practices and environmental conservation initiatives across Travis County.
