The Salvation Army Austin has concluded its 2024 Angel Tree program, expressing gratitude to the community for its support. This year, over 7,000 children in Central Texas received Christmas gifts and necessities through the initiative. Families applied in September for their children to be "adopted" by donors who provided items from each child's wish list.

Corporate partners and individual donors contributed both gifts and time, with over 1,000 volunteers assisting in organizing and preparing gift bags at the Christmas warehouse. The distribution occurred a week before Christmas when families collected their gifts amid a welcoming atmosphere created by staff and volunteers.

The organization emphasized that acts of kindness have far-reaching impacts beyond those directly receiving aid. They also acknowledged Underground Printing for providing matching t-shirts to staff members. The Salvation Army Austin invites those interested in participating in future programs to reach out via email.
