Lanny Williams has been appointed as the new Athletic Director for Manor Independent School District (ISD). With over 20 years of experience in athletic leadership and coaching, Williams is set to enhance the district's sports programs and foster community involvement in student athletics.

Previously, Williams was the Assistant Director of Athletics at Killeen ISD. There, he managed three high schools and six middle schools, handling responsibilities such as scheduling, budgeting, and staff recruitment. His tenure saw increased student participation and improved team performance across various sports including football, basketball, baseball, track, and swimming. He prioritized student safety and program integrity by ensuring compliance with University Interscholastic League standards.

Williams also held significant roles at Brenham ISD and Cedar Park High School. At Brenham ISD, he managed junior high athletic programs and initiated efforts to engage the community in supporting student-athletes. As a head baseball coach at both Cedar Park and Brenham high schools, he achieved team records and coached athletes who advanced to collegiate and professional levels.

Manor ISD Superintendent Dr. Robert Sormani highlighted the selection process: “When we began our search for a new Athletic Director, we conducted a community survey, and integrity emerged as the top quality our community wanted in a candidate,” said Sormani. “After considering this feedback, evaluating our district’s needs, and conducting a statewide search that resulted in 45 applicants, Lanny Williams stood out. He not only embodies the integrity our community values but also brings the experience and leadership necessary to support our scholars, coaches, and athletic programs."

Expressing his enthusiasm for his new role at Manor ISD, Williams stated: "I am honored to join the Manor ISD community and look forward to building on the district’s legacy of excellence in athletics. My goal is to create an inclusive, competitive environment where all student-athletes can thrive."

In his new position leading Manor ISD's athletic department, Williams will focus on program development, student engagement, and forming partnerships within the community to help students excel both academically and athletically.
