Austin ISD student-athletes are actively participating in the fall sports season, with several notable achievements this week.
The LASA Tennis team advanced to the UIL Team Tennis State Tournament and secured a bronze state semifinalist award after competing against Frisco Centennial Tennis team in the first round.
In cross country, Anderson, Austin, Bowie high schools, and LASA have qualified for the UIL Cross Country State Meet. The following student-athletes will compete this weekend: Lucy Gibson, Leah Heckmann, Ashley Marron-Rodriguez, Faith Murphy, Bojana Rutkousky, Emily Scholtz, Caroline Talarcek from Anderson; Eva Cragnolino and Joaquin Gonzalez from LASA; Miah McAulay and Griffin Hummel from Bowie; and Luke Bone from Austin.
Middle school football teams concluded their season with final games. Congratulations to the division winners and runners-up:
- Division 1 7th Grade Champions: Gorzycki Middle School
- Division 1 7th Grade Runner-up: Murchison Middle School
- Division 1 8th Grade Champions: O. Henry Middle School
- Division 1 8th Grade Runner-up: Bailey Middle School
- Division 2 Champion: Garcia Young Men’s Leadership Academy
- Division 2 Runner-up: Bedichek Middle School

El equipo de tenis de LASA se clasificó para el Torneo Estatal de Tenis por Equipos de la UIL y obtuvo el premio de semifinalista estatal de bronce tras enfrentarse al equipo Frisco Centennial en la primera ronda del torneo.
