An election is scheduled to take place in Travis County, Texas, on November 5, 2024. This election will present voters with a proposition concerning the approval of an ad valorem tax rate. The proposed rate is $0.344445 per $100 valuation, which represents an increase of $0.025 over the previous year’s voter-approved rate.

Last year's ad valorem tax rate in Travis County was $0.304655 per $100 valuation.

The official ballot will allow voters to choose "FOR" or "AGAINST" the proposition, which will be presented in both English and Spanish.

All qualified residents of Travis County are eligible to vote in this election. Voting locations have been designated by Dyana Limón-Mercado, the Travis County Clerk. These locations may change if necessary without further action from the Commissioners Court.

Voting will occur from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Election Day at county-level polling places listed in Appendix A of the order.

The notice of election will be disseminated through various channels, including publication in a general circulation newspaper at least once between 30 days before and 10 days before the election date. It will also be available on the county's website until Election Day.

The Judge of Travis County and the County Clerk are authorized to take necessary actions to comply with relevant codes, ensuring bilingual requirements are met as applicable under federal law.

This order confirms that public meetings regarding its adoption were conducted openly as required by Texas Government Code Chapter 551.
