The Austin Independent School District (Austin ISD) has announced the commencement of its annual Benefits Open Enrollment period, starting October 1. This year introduces new providers, prompting an earlier enrollment deadline of October 15 for plans that will take effect on January 1, 2025.

Health insurance and benefits do not automatically renew each year, making it necessary for all eligible employees to enroll during this period. New employees who enrolled upon hiring are also required to re-enroll to maintain coverage in 2025.

Austin ISD emphasizes its commitment to the health and well-being of its staff through a comprehensive and competitive benefits package. "Austin ISD is committed to investing in the health and well-being of our team," a spokesperson stated. The district aims to help staff and their families lead healthy, balanced lives.

For the upcoming year, Austin ISD will offer plans through Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas. These plans provide access to quality healthcare providers at low costs, including full coverage for prescriptions and preventative care.

Employees have the option to enroll early in person or online until October 15. Those interested can visit various campuses or facilities as scheduled or complete their enrollment online.

On October 4, Austin ISD will host Benefest at Central Office. This event allows employees to enroll with assistance from benefits counselors, meet vendors, explore wellness resources, and participate in prize drawings.

Further details about new medical, dental, vision providers, wellness programs, and resources are available on the Austin ISD Benefits website.
