The NAHB IBS Sustainability and Green Building Scholarship is now open for applications. This scholarship aims to give emerging green builders exposure to high-performance homes and help them start their professional journey by attending the International Builders’ Show (IBS).
The scholarship is available to young professionals and emerging green builders aged 25 to 35. It provides $1,800 for travel expenses and full registration for the 2025 IBS in Las Vegas, scheduled for Feb. 25-27. Recipients will have access to networking events, education sessions, and opportunities to see the latest industry products.
Last year's recipient was Melanie Leas Von Eschen, manager of Town of Breckenridge Construction. She highlighted the benefits of receiving the scholarship.
“Being [the 2023] scholarship recipient gave me the incredible opportunity to attend the IBS, which is widely regarded as one of the top events for the building and development industry in the country,” said Eschen. “This experience allowed me to connect with key industry leaders, particularly in the areas of sustainability and alternative construction methods. These insights have provided me with a competitive advantage, as I’m now more aware of the latest trends and innovations shaping the future of the building industry.”
Interested applicants can apply online. A resume and cover letter are required. Applications are due Nov. 18.
