Austin police seek public help in locating hit-and-run suspect

The Austin Police Department (APD) Highway Enforcement Investigations unit is seeking public assistance in locating a suspect connected to a hit-and-run incident that occurred on Sunday, September 24, 2023, at approximately 7 p.m. The crash took place at the intersection of Ohlen Road and Research Boulevard Service Road Southbound lanes, resulting in serious injuries to an elderly victim.

Detectives have identified Nilson Isaac Perez Gomez as a person of interest who may possess information regarding the incident. Perez Gomez is described as a Hispanic male, 20 years of age.

A reward of up to $1,000 may be available for information leading to an arrest.
