HAAM Day, now in its 19th year, will take place on Tuesday, September 24th, 2024. The event is organized to raise awareness and critical funds for the Health Alliance for Austin Musicians (HAAM). Powered by PNC and SXSW, HAAM Day 2024 will feature over 250 free live music performances across various locations in Austin.
Local residents can expect performances in diverse venues such as bank lobbies, grocery stores, parks, restaurants, shops, and traditional live music venues. Community members are encouraged to support the businesses sponsoring HAAM Day by making purchases that contribute a percentage of sales back to HAAM.
The organization invites businesses to become sponsors and show their commitment to maintaining Austin's vibrant music scene. Live music venues are also encouraged to sign up as 'Venue Supporters' to help ensure the success of the event.
Musicians are asked to donate their time and talents for this single day each year. HAAM emphasizes the importance of community involvement in sustaining its services.
In preparation for HAAM Day 2024, the organization seeks public input on what music means to them. Responses may be featured in this year's campaign.
This year's official HAAM Day artwork is designed by Zuzu Perkal, an Austin-based artist and entrepreneur recognized as Austin Chronicle’s “Best Muralist” for three consecutive years. Perkal has collaborated with brands such as American Express, Rolling Stone, Coca-Cola, Lexus, Neiman Marcus, and MLB. Her mural work is known for its vibrant colors and positive messaging.
"Music and art are deeply intertwined," says Perkal. "Music heals us from the inside out, and my art is intentionally designed to do the same."
Major sponsors for HAAM Day 2024 include PNC Bank and SXSW as primary supporters; H-E-B; The Barilla Foundation; C3 Presents; Cirrus Logic; Bobby & Aubrey Epstein; Circuit of the Americas; Still Austin Whiskey Co.; and YETI among others.
