The Austin Police Department (APD) Homicide Unit continues to seek the community's assistance in finding the person or persons responsible for the death of 27-year-old D’Andre Isaiah Day. Mr. Day was found deceased on September 4, 2022, at the corner of 6th and Brazos streets. Detectives learned that Mr. Day had been involved in a disturbance near the intersection of 7th and Colorado streets, where they believe he sustained his injuries.
Detectives have exhausted all leads but continue to actively work on the case. A motive for the killing has not been determined, though it appears to be an isolated incident with no threat to the public.
Three persons of interest and a vehicle have been captured on video, along with three potential witnesses. These videos are available on APD’s Official YouTube Channel. Homicide detectives request public assistance in identifying these individuals and any additional witnesses.

Detectives are also seeking help in identifying the owners of a silver 2003-2005 Honda Accord believed to be connected to the case.

On September 4, 2022, at approximately 2:34 a.m., Austin Police Department officers were flagged down at the corner of 6th Street and Brazos Street. Officers found D'Andre Isaiah Day lying on the ground with apparent life-threatening stab wounds; he was later pronounced dead at a hospital.
Homicide detectives and Crime Scene Specialists determined that Day had been involved in an altercation with three other men when one unidentified man stabbed him. The incident appears to have escalated from a random meeting on the street and remains under investigation as an isolated event posing no public threat.
Investigators urge anyone who may have recorded or witnessed this altercation to come forward with any information or video footage.
This case marks Austin's 53rd homicide investigation for 2022.
