The Austin Police Department (APD) Homicide Unit is requesting public assistance in identifying four suspects involved in a homicide that occurred on June 8, 2024. The incident took place at approximately 6:01 a.m. at a Waffle House located at 12304 Dessau Road.
The suspects, described as Hispanic males with short black hair and possibly between the ages of 16-20, are believed to have shot two victims following an argument with the group that the victims were with. One of the victims, identified as Tykeisha Lewis, was fatally wounded. The suspects fled the scene immediately after the shooting.
Anyone with information is urged to contact the Austin Police Department at 512-974-TIPS. A reward of up to $2,000 may be available for information leading to an arrest.
On June 8, 2024, APD officers responded to reports of a shooting in the parking lot of the Waffle House on Dessau Road. Upon arrival, they found Tykeisha Lewis with an apparent gunshot wound. She was transported by Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services (A/TCEMS) to a local hospital where she was pronounced deceased at 8:21 a.m. A second female victim was also injured by gunfire and is currently in stable condition after being taken to a local hospital.
Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Specialists processed the scene and interviewed witnesses. Their investigation revealed that Ms. Lewis had been shot by a group of males who had been arguing with her group prior to fleeing.
This case marks Austin's 25th homicide of 2024.
