AUSTIN, TEXAS – Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) reported a 1.65% increase in passenger traffic for April 2024 compared to the same month in 2023, with a total of 1,875,980 passengers. Enplanements for April 2024 reached 949,386, marking a 1.64% rise.
Southwest Airlines saw a significant increase in passengers, totaling 803,775, up by 12.9%. In contrast, American Airlines experienced a decline of 19%, with passenger numbers at 369,790. Delta Air Lines reported an increase of 29.3%, totaling 277,780 passengers. United Airlines also saw growth with a 4.7% rise to 210,231 passengers.
Other airlines had mixed results: Alaska Airlines' passenger count decreased by 9.5% to 66,849; Spirit Airlines dropped by 57.5% to 30,235; Allegiant Air fell by 27.3% to 27,096; and JetBlue Airways declined by 12.4% to 21,114 passengers. Conversely, British Airways increased by 6.2% to reach 16,860 passengers; Frontier Airlines surged by 90.7% to total at14,321; and Air Canada rose by77.2%to6,995passengers.
