The Austin Chamber has unveiled its board leadership for the 2024-2025 term. Rudy Garza, the President and CEO of GarzaEMC, is slated to assume the role of board chair in 2024. Meanwhile, Mark Ramseur, Managing Principal of Pape-Dawson Engineers, will serve as the chair-elect in 2024 before assuming the position of board chair in 2025.
The Austin Chamber is a nonprofit organization with a focus on job creation. It invests in diverse programs designed to support and enhance the regional economy. Garza expressed his readiness to lead the Chamber's board in 2024. "I am excited, honored and ready to lead the Chamber’s board in 2024 and if there is one message I want to convey, it's that it is time to show up," he said according to a press release by the Austin Chamber. He further emphasized that as a voice for business within the community, it was crucial for them to take up leadership roles again. Garza stressed that tackling challenges such as affordability and public safety required more than just words but action.
Ramseur also expressed his gratitude for being entrusted with the position of board chair for 2025 by his fellow board members. He said, according to a press release by the Austin Chamber: "The Austin Chamber is a respected, long-standing and highly influential organization for our growing community, and I am proud to be able to continue to bolster this reputation." He thanked outgoing Chair Ali Khataw and Chamber President and CEO Jeremy Martin for their dedicated leadership throughout 2023 while looking forward to working with Garza and other staff members.
