Concordia University Texas has announced a new tuition plan called "The Right Call Initiative" for the 2024-25 academic year. This initiative will reduce tuition costs by nearly 40%, bringing the published tuition down to $23,500. The university aims to make college education more accessible and transparent, breaking down financial barriers and expanding access to higher learning for all students.

The new tuition cost includes all mandatory fees and textbooks, ensuring transparency for students and families. However, there are certain exceptions, such as fees for non-mandatory experiential courses and additional fees for nursing programs and student-athletes' insurance, as stated in a press release from Concordia University.

Dr. Kristi Kirk, provost and executive vice president of Concordia University Texas, emphasized the university's commitment to accessibility and transparency in higher education. “At Concordia Texas, we want to make college education more accessible and transparent, breaking down financial barriers and expanding access to higher learning for all who seek it,” she said in the release. “We believe in the transformative power of a college degree and understand that financial constraints can sometimes stand in the way of accessing high-quality higher education and valuable experiential learning opportunities that lead to meaningful work. Our revised approach, which is part of the personalized support we provide to our students, aims to expand access to a Concordia Texas education for a broader range of undergraduate students.”

Despite the reduced tuition, the university assures that the quality of education and the supportive learning community at Concordia Texas will remain unchanged. Scholarships and financial aid opportunities will continue to be available, ensuring that students can pursue their higher education goals regardless of their financial background.

“Concordia Texas is committed to breaking down barriers and widening the doors of higher education to a broader spectrum of students who might not have had this opportunity otherwise,” Kirk said in the release. “By removing the stress and barriers college tuition can create for students and their families, The Right Call initiative ensures that all students, regardless of their background, can focus on their studies and personal growth with confidence and realize their full potential with higher education. Approaching tuition more transparently is ‘The Right Call’ for our students, campus community, Central Texas and higher education.”
