A rally at the Texas State Capitol this week will include experts who have been working to manage what they are describing as a “crisis” at the border between Texas and Mexico.

A coalition hosting the "How Many More” rally on Saturday, April 29 is calling for state officials to declare an invasion of Texas by Mexican crime cartels, and to seize their assets. The rally is also intended to support HB 20, a bill in the Texas House that will create a Texas Border Protection Unit to repel illegal border crossers.

According to Mark Morgan of the Border Security and Immigration Center at The Heritage Foundation, incursions into Texas pose threats beyond the state, creating “a crisis impacting every aspect of country’s safety and national security.”  Morgan plans to speak at the rally.

Organizers say the rally is to raise awareness of what the coalition’s website states are dangers, including an influx of Fentanyl into the U.S., human trafficking, and national security threats posed by the cartels and foreign terrorist organizations.

Jeffrey Stamm, a retired agent with the U.S. Drug and Enforcement Agency who will speak at the rally claims that the U.S. faces a “confluence of threats” from Mexican drug cartels, which operate from Mexico and increasingly from within the United States.  According to Stramm, "we're fighting the world's most powerful and prolific narcoterrorists who not only control the entirety of the U.S.-Mexico border, but have their greatest presence outside their own country inside ours."

The event will be begin at 1:00 PM at the Texas State Capitol, located at 1100 Congress Avenue in Austin, TX 78701.Other speakers will include U.S. Rep. Chip Roy, (Texas), guitarist Ted Nugent, Texas Borders Volunteers Dr. Mike Vickers, Goliad County Sheriff Roy Boyd, Omni Intelligence CEO Jaeson Jones, retired Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent Victor Avila, Veterans for Child Rescue Craig Sawyer, Prager U executive CJ Pearson, radio host George Rodriguez, journalist Lara Logan, and Convention of States president Mark Meckler.
