Five Austin schools rank among best public and private schools in Texas for 2021

An online ranking and review resource recently ranked five Austin high schools among the best public and private high schools in Texas for 2021.

Niche provides information on K–12 schools, colleges, cities, neighborhoods and companies across the United States.

Culturemap Austin reported that according to Niche's 2022 Best Public High Schools in Texas list, four Austin high schools landed in the top 10. Austin ISD’s Liberal Arts & Science Academy ranks No. 2, followed by Westlake High School (Eanes ISD), No. 4; Westwood High School (Round Rock ISD), No. 8; and Vandegrift High School (Leander ISD), No. 10.

St. Stephen’s Episcopal School ranks No. 5 on the list of Texas’ top private schools.

Niche bases its rankings on key statistics and millions of reviews from students and parents using data from the U.S. Department of Education. Ranking factors include state test scores, college readiness, graduation rates, SAT/ACT scores, teacher quality and high school ratings.

Eanes ISD ranked No. 1 for the best school district in Texas, and the rest of the list was taken by school districts in the Dallas-Fort Worth Region.
