Customers and employees using CapMetro services or facilities are now required to wear face masks, in accordance with new regulations from the Centers for Disease Control. The CDC has issued an order mandating that customers nationwide wear face masks on public transit. Bandanas and other single-ply fabric coverings will no longer meet the federal requirements and will be prohibited.
CapMetro initially implemented a face-covering requirement for its services and facilities in April 2020. Since then, operators have reminded customers to wear a mask while on board. To assist those who may forget their masks, all CapMetro vehicles are stocked with extra face masks that comply with the new federal standards.
While wearing a face mask is mandatory, it does not replace the need for social distancing. CapMetro continues to clean its vehicles daily with disinfectant and uses an electrostatic product to ensure surfaces are sanitized.
