The Austin LGBT Chamber of Commerce recently held its 2024 Queer Frontier Business of Pride Gala on December 7. The event was attended by over 450 community leaders, corporate partners, and LGBTQ+ advocates.

The gala celebrated achievements within the LGBTQ+ business community, recognized scholarship recipients, and supported small businesses in the food and beverage industry. In collaboration with the National LGBT Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC), the Austin LGBT Chamber awarded $60,000 in grants to small LGBTQ+-owned and allied businesses. These grants were funded by the Grubhub Community Fund.

Grant recipients included Gusto Italian Kitchen and Wine Bar, Gina’s on Congress, Gràcia Mediterranean, El Raval, B.D. Riley’s Irish Pub at Mueller, The Iron Bear, The Austin Eagle, Load Off Fanny’s, Best Little Wine & Books, Barbs B Q, Fukumoto, Pelons Tex Mex, Drinks Lounge, and The Cavalier.

Amy Clunie from the chamber stated: “I love when a plan comes together in partnership that enables us to provide real and meaningful impact for our members.”

Additionally, three $2,500 scholarships were awarded to exceptional LGBTQ+ students and allies pursuing higher education in Texas. This initiative underscores the chamber's dedication to fostering future leaders.

Tina Cannon expressed her thoughts on the event: “The Queer Frontier Gala was more than a celebration — it was a testament to the power of community.”

The chamber acknowledged its sponsors and volunteers who contributed to making the evening memorable. Sponsors included PMI as Title Sponsor; Table Sponsors such as Latham & Watkins and Dell; Award Sponsors like Justworks; In-kind Sponsors including Cicada Lighting; with special thanks extended to HEB among others.

Founded in 1997, the Austin LGBT Chamber of Commerce supports equality by promoting LGBTQ+ businesses through various events annually.
