Three officers were sworn in, and seven received promotions to various ranks including Corporal, Sergeant, Lieutenant, and Assistant Chief on October 14 at the Austin ISD Performing Arts Center. The ceremony was attended by families of the officers.
Austin ISD Police Chief Wayne Sneed and Trustee Kevin Foster congratulated the officers. "Congratulations to all those who were promoted and thank you for all you do to keep us safe!"
The Austin ISD Police Department is expanding its force in compliance with HB 3. All officers complete comprehensive training on working with children and de-escalation tactics before joining the district.
