Entrepreneurial students from two high schools in the Austin Independent School District (ISD) participated in the first ACL Fest Immersion Day. This event provided them with an opportunity to apply their learning by creating their own festival.

The significance of this initiative lies in the unique opportunities it provides for students attending school within Austin ISD. It allows them to learn directly from businesses and partners located in the capital city.

Through a partnership involving Austin ISD, students from Austin High School and Crockett Early College High School received an exclusive behind-the-scenes experience at the Austin City Limits Music Festival. They explored the festival grounds, learned from industry experts, and used their creativity to design a dream festival.

Working in groups, students brainstormed festival concepts and presented their ideas to C3 Presents Chief Operating Officer Emmett Beliveau, Austin ISD Superintendent Matias Segura, and other district leaders. The group with the winning concept was awarded upgraded tickets for the second weekend of the ACL Festival.

C3 Presents Community Engagement Manager Louisa Wyatt stated, "The goal is to introduce young people to the festival industry and to show them that they don’t have to be on stage to be part of the festival production."

Looking ahead, these students will attend ACL this weekend with complimentary three-day passes.
