In a fusion of music and social impact, the Other Ones Foundation is set to host a benefit concert on November 2nd, 2024 at Radio East in Austin, Texas. This day-long event aims to support the Foundation's innovative initiatives in providing shelter and fostering independence for the city's homeless population. The concert promises an impressive lineup of performers, combining entertainment with the cause of addressing homelessness in Austin.

The Other Ones Foundation has been helping to serve the homeless population since 2018. Their efforts focus on two key areas: building shelters to provide immediate relief and creating job skills and opportunities to promote long-term independence.

The event organizers have implemented a strategic ticketing system to encourage early participation and maximize support for the cause. The first 400 tickets will be available at a minimum donation tier, after which the price will increase. This approach hopes to incentivize early ticket purchases but also ensures that a significant portion of the proceeds goes directly to supporting The Other Ones Foundation's initiatives.

The musical lineup for the event features a diverse range of genres. Headlining the event is Galactic, the renowned New Orleans funk and jazz ensemble known for their electrifying live performances. They will be joined by Karl Denson's Tiny Universe, a group celebrated for their unique blend of jazz-funk and soul. Adding to the eclectic mix is Chali 2na, the distinctive voice from Jurassic 5, bringing his signature hip-hop style to the stage.

Participants get to enjoy a day of exceptional live performances but also contribute directly to improving the lives of Austin's homeless population. The proceeds from the concert will be channeled into The Other Ones Foundation's ongoing projects, including the construction of more shelters and the creation of workforce training and jobs programs for the people they serve.

The city has been grappling with a growing homelessness crisis. While there were approximately 2,000 individuals experiencing homelessness in 2014, that number grew, according to city estimates, to 2,500 by 2019 and now exceeds an estimated 6,600 people.

According to the event invite, proceeds from past music events like this have already helped build “hundreds of shelters, work opportunities, and created massive support” for the work the Other Ones Foundation is doing.

With tickets now on sale, interested individuals are encouraged to secure their spots early. Not only does this ensure access to the event at the lower price point, but it also maximizes the impact of their contribution to The Other Ones Foundation's vital work.

Tickets can be purchased on their website.
