The Reverent Few, a band characterized by their blend of soul, spiritual, and gospel influences, shared their journey from Chicago to Austin. The band's origin traces back to the spring of 2011 when Nick and I met and bonded over old soul tunes at a whiskey bar in Chicago.

After spending years singing side by side and developing a deep connection, the duo moved to Austin, Texas in the fall of 2013 due to family obligations. This relocation marked a significant change as they left behind their previous lives but found new friendships and inspiration for songwriting.

In 2014, they recorded their self-produced EP, followed by a full band EP in 2016. Their music reflects the hardships they've faced during their time in Austin, echoing themes of survival and hope.

"Our sound has thumbprints of soul, spiritual and gospel influences, harmonies and hard truths sang with guts and grit," said the band members. They attribute their greatest influences to their parents: "Our greatest influences are our heavenly parents, Tracy Boettcher & Veronica DeChausse."

The Reverent Few emphasized that while one parent was a singer and the other worked with tools, both instilled values of humility, humor, integrity, honesty, and soul into them. "We sing songs because we have to," they stated. "We carry on phrases some couldn’t finish and are moved to share with you what really shakes us at our core."
