The Austin Police Department (APD) requests the public’s assistance in locating and identifying a suspect in an aggravated assault with a deadly weapon case.

According to a September 10 press release issued by APD, authorities were summoned to the intersection of East 7th and Red River streets in the early morning hours of September 2. Police allegedly heard gunshots and discovered an individual who was bleeding.

The release said that the investigation revealed that three Black males were operating a newer model gray or silver Chevrolet Malibu. Authorities allege that the suspect drove alongside the victim’s vehicle when the front right passenger fired multiple gunshots and struck the victim.

APD described the suspect as a Black male with a possibly shaved head or hair who wore a black t-shirt, light-colored ripped jeans, and gold chain. The vehicle in question has no front license plate.

Anyone with any information on the suspect and the vehicle is urged to contact the APD Aggravated Assault Unit at (512) 974-5245 or submit an anonymous tip by visiting austincrimestoppers.org or calling (512) 472-8477. A reward of up to $1,000 will be given to the individual who provides information that leads to an arrest.
