Austin police seek public help in aggravated assault case

The Austin Police Department (APD) Aggravated Assault Unit is seeking public assistance in connection to an aggravated assault with a deadly weapon that occurred at 1801 E. 51st Street, near the H-E-B store.

According to authorities, on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at approximately 9:50 p.m., two suspects in a white sedan fired multiple gunshots at victims as they exited the H-E-B and entered the parking lot. The suspects fled the scene in their vehicle and were last seen exiting the North West H-E-B entrance/exit onto E. 51st Street.

Authorities urge anyone with information about this incident, including details about the vehicle or identities of the suspects inside it, to contact the APD Aggravated Assault Unit at 512-974-5177. A reward of up to $1,000 may be available for information leading to an arrest.
