Country artist and songwriter Taylor Hughes is set to make her debut at Saxon Pub. Known for her unique blend of southern rock and blues influences, Hughes has established a reputation in Nashville, Tennessee. Originally from Lexington, Kentucky, she has been described by Christy Sutherland as having a voice like “rich chocolate cake with soul” and was called “Country music’s answer to Adele” by the Tennessee Star Magazine.
Hughes first gained attention with her debut single "Good Taste" in 2020, which received airplay on iHeart Radio and other stations. Her sophomore single "Prayin’ to the Whiskey" earned her nominations for “Emerging International Artist of the Year” in the UK and “International Song of the Year” in Ireland, where it made the final top 10. She was also among the final top 5 artists for Southern Fellow’s “Artist of the Year” for two consecutive years.
Her third single "High On Something," released at the end of 2021, charted in the top 100 on the Texas Internet Radio Charts. In 2022, she was nominated for “Female Country Vocalist of the Year” and the “Fan’s Choice” award at the Josie Music Awards. Before moving to Nashville, Hughes had already been recognized in Lexington Music Awards as best female vocalist, best country artist, best singer-songwriter, and song of the year; winning multiple times between 2016 and 2019. She has shared stages with notable artists such as Chase Rice, Riley Green, Sam Riggs, Morgan Myles, Angaleena Presley (Pistol Annies), Striking Matches, Leah Turner, Alexandra Kay, Uncle Kracker among others.
In 2023 Hughes embarked on several mini tours across the country and performed at various festivals while releasing her fourth single "Jesus and Jail." This period also saw her winning multiple awards and receiving numerous nominations. Notably, she entered 2023 with four nominations in Appalachian Arts and Entertainment Awards including “Best Female Vocalist,” “Best Country Artist,” “Song of the Year,” and “Social Media Influencer.” She was also named an artist to watch by Country Evolution's fan vote. At the Lexington Music Awards that year she was awarded "Country Artist of The Year" along with receiving several nominations at Josie Music Awards where she won "Multi Genre Vocalist of The Year."
The beginning of 2024 continued this trend with Hughes being named "Female Vocalist Of The Year" alongside her song "Jesus And Jail" winning "Song Of The Year" at Lexi Music Awards in Kentucky. She also received two nominations for '24 Josie Music Awards set to be held later this year at Grand Ole Opry. Additionally one of her songs will feature on Whey Jennings' upcoming album "Jekyll & Hyde."
