Austin ISD is gearing up for the much-anticipated solar eclipse event happening this Monday, April 8th. In preparation for this celestial phenomenon, the district has issued some important reminders to ensure the safety and educational experience of students and staff.
According to Austin ISD, all bus routes will run on a normal schedule on Monday, although delays are possible in the afternoon due to increased traffic. Families are encouraged to monitor the arrival time of their buses using the district's website.
To maintain a focused learning environment, Austin ISD has announced that campus grounds, including fields, will be off-limits to the public during school hours. These areas are designated for educational purposes and will not be available for eclipse viewing by the general public.
In line with the educational significance of the event, absences on Monday will not be excused. The district sees the solar eclipse as a unique learning opportunity for students and is committed to ensuring their active participation.
To provide additional support and assistance, central office staff will be present at campuses throughout Monday to aid in facilitating eclipse-related activities and ensuring a smooth experience for everyone involved.
Austin ISD encourages the community to come together to celebrate this extraordinary celestial event and create lasting memories for students. The district expresses gratitude for the cooperation and support of families and staff in making this event a success.
Warm regards,
Austin ISD
