The Austin Chamber of Commerce participated in a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Dec. 18, marking the grand opening of an integrative medical clinic, Happy Health & Wellness, in Oak Hill. The newly established wellness center aims to offer both traditional and integrative medicine to the Austin community.
According to a press release issued on Jan. 11, Happy Health & Wellness is committed to adopting a preventative approach to patient care. The clinic aspires to practice proactive rather than reactive medicine, using advanced diagnostic testing to treat diseases with services such as IV therapy before they can impact a patient's health. The clinic has also stated that its care will be covered by most insurance plans, ensuring accessible healthcare for the Austin community.
"It’s very exciting - the practice of functional medicine allows us to actually get to the root-cause of disease and prevent disease as much as we can. The more that we can dig deep into people’s health early-on, the easier it is for us to get them healthy and keep them healthy long-term," said Dr. Lisa Kirk, Happy Health & Wellness's medical director, in the press release.
Dr. Kirk is a native Texan who earned her medical degree in 1996 from the University of North Texas Health Science Center. According to her profile on One Life's website, she is certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians and is a member of both the American Osteopathic Association and the Texas Medical Association. In her medical practice, Kirk employs her additional training and skills as a Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.) with a focus on preventive medicine.
Happy Health was established with an aim to assist individuals who have been seeking relief from their health issues through traditional medicine but have not found success.
