Governor Greg Abbott has announced that Houston will be the host city for the 2023 Governor’s Small Business Summit, an event designed to honor women business owners and entrepreneurs. This announcement was made by the Office of the Texas Governor, who noted that these summits serve as a platform to assist the state's small business owners and entrepreneurs with accessing necessary resources and information needed to establish their businesses.

"Women business owners, whether they are looking to start a new venture or expand an existing one, benefit from the same opportunities as all entrepreneurs: increased access to capital, fewer barriers to entry, and greater freedom to grow," said Abbott in a press release issued on December 1 by his office. He added, "Texas provides more growth opportunities than any other state," emphasizing its appeal for business owners. The governor went on to note, "That is why Texas is home to 1.25 million women business owners and why Houston leads the nation in small business jobs growth."

The press release further revealed that the summit is a joint venture co-hosted by several organizations including the Governor's Commission for Women, the Greater Houston Women’s Chamber of Commerce, and the Texas Workforce Commission. In an assurance of continued support for small businesses in Texas, Abbott remarked, "We will continue partnering with our small business owners across the state ensuring they have all necessary knowledge and tools for success as we aim at building an even brighter Texas of tomorrow."

Scheduled for December 7th at Bayou City Event Center located at 9401 Knight Rd., attendees can join from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m., as indicated in the press release.
The registration fee stands at $20; it covers access to all sessions, resource providers lunch, and complimentary headshots.

According to further details provided in the release, panel topics set for discussion include Marketing & Social Media strategies along with Finance & Funding issues.
