The Office of the Texas Governor announced that October employment data reveals the continued leadership of the Lone Star State in annual jobs growth nationwide. The state also set new records with the largest civilian labor force ever at 15,162,100 and more Texans being either employed or self-employed than ever before, reaching a count of 14,536,800.

The report contains some compelling figures. According to the release, figures published by the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) and the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), Texas added 391,500 jobs from October 2022 to October 2023, which is the most in the nation. Its annual growth rate of 2.9% bests the nation’s at 1.9%, according to the release.

The governor's comments on these statistics highlight their significance. Abbott stated in the release that this positive momentum exemplifies the resilience of Texan businesses and entrepreneurs, contributing to Texas having the finest business climate in the nation.

The governor's vision for Texas' future is optimistic given these numbers. "With more Texans working than ever before, we continue to build an even bolder Texas of tomorrow," said Governor Abbott according to the release.
